iTouch 5th Generation rumors have already begun. At the recent conferences held by Apple, there was this talk about how 2012 was going to be an important year for Apple. Sure we’ve already got Apple iPad 3 (the new iPad) and things we’re expecting.

Now that the new iPad has signaled the start of the A5X and A6 processor chips, it would be interesting to watch how the A6 begins to make a difference in the smartphones and iPod Touch that Apple will release this year. Having the A6 on the iTouch 5th Generation features looks a far-fetched idea, but with Apple, one can never guess precisely.

More Audio / Video Formats Supported

The support for more video and audio formats has been a constant thing popping up in forums and wishlists for the iPod Touch. It would be interesting to watch DivX and FLAC support on the iTouch 5th Generation and pretty much many other formats are out there still going unsupported by the iPod Touch. Decision regarding this is not just about technology though – one would have to think of protection and legalities also.

More RAM

This is one point of contention where few users of the iPod Touch 4G have chirped in. While some argue that the present RAM is decent enough, one would also have to add in the other requirements – like more apps, upgraded OS and stuff like that. These will require a faster and capacious RAM. The iTouch 5th Generation would do good if it comes with a faster RAM.

Better Camera

The iPod Touch 4th Gen has a very poor camera, in comparison to even iPhone 4 or 3Gs. A VGA front-camera and a low-quality rear-camera is all that we have right now. It would be natural to expect a powerful 5-8 MP camera on the iTouch 5th Generation features, including some good improvement on the front-facing camera. That would make FaceTime even better than it is – and make the iTouch 5th Generation much closer to the iPhone brothers.

A Bigger Display

Although Steve had made clear that Apple would not take the Android route, it is now a question as to whether the displays of iPhones and iPods are set to change. Even though extremely user-friendly, iPhone and iPod users have always complained that their Android counterparts are better with the bigger displays – so, would the iTouch 5th Generation features include a somewhat larger display? Chances are high.

iTouch 5th Generation Release Date ?

One of the more prominent release dates that is floating around the internet today is none other than the iTouch 5th Generation release date, and it’s something that is not going to go away anytime soon. The latest speculation about the date has been pushed into the spring of 2012 discussions, while some other tech savvy people have stated that iTouch 5th Generation’s going to be coming out in the summer.
