Razer Blade UK Release Date
Razer Blade is a small gaming laptop that only existed as a concept device to develop technologies for retail products like the Razer Blade. Perhaps the most eye-catching feature is the LED-backlit, LCD trackpad that can double as a secondary display. Above that sits ten customizable, Razer Blade LCD buttons whose functions change depending on the game and the user’s preferences. For example, in a game like World of Warcraft or League of Legends, the buttons would match the functionality of your character’s abilities/spells/attacks, overlaying an appropriate icon on each button.
Both Razer Blade LCD buttons and the LCD multi-touch trackpad create a unique gaming “peripheral” unlike anything we’ve seen before. We imagine apps will be updated to alter the functionality and look of the trackpad and buttons, so for example, iTunes could be configured to display track information via the secondary display, changing the look and fuction of Razer Blade LCD buttons to match the media player’s controls. The possibilites are numerous. Innovations in design and functionality like this open the door to creative new uses for these peripherals. This is exactly what occurred with the computer mouse, which was originally designed for merely clicking and moving icons, windows and text, though it has been renovated, innovated, re-invented and re-purposed over and over again. We can only hope the same level of innovation accompanies this revolutionary PC gaming device.
Razer Blade Specs
Razer Blade laptop, which weighs in at just 6.9lbs, also boasts an NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M graphics card, 2GB video memory, a built-in HD webcam and an integrated 60Wh battery.
The company has brazenly declared the 17.3-inch Razer Blade the “world’s first true gaming laptop”, which comes complete with a 2.8GHz Intel Core i7 processor and 8GB of DDR3 RAM.
Razer Blade laptop comes with the innovative Switchblade User Interface, which features a multi-touch LCD screen and 10 dynamic keys, both positioned to the right of the laptop.
Razer Blade Release Date
Razer Blade gaming laptop has run into supply issues pushing shipping back to mid to late January. Don’t cry, they’re throwing in a free gaming mouse. You can’t cry when there’s a free mouse involved.
In a comment posted on Razer’s Facebook page earlier this week, company CEO Min-Liang Tan apologized for the unexpected delay of the Razer Blade, apparently caused by a smaller-than-expected supply if the 256GB solid state drives the $2799.99 gaming laptop were recently been upgraded with (the system was originally configured with a 320GB SATA drive). While Razer Blade didn’t add to the price of the machine to reflect the $300-$500 price of the new drives, Razer Blade looks like customers will instead be paying in time.
